Title: Economic simulation and treatment model to estimate the cost of antibiotic-resistant Staphylococcus aureus
Abstract: Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) is a bacteria that commonly colonises humans and occasionally causes infections that may be fatal. S. aureus that is resistant to first-line antibiotics (methicillin-resistant S. aureus or MRSA) is also commonly carried in Australia and rates of infections caused by MRSA are increasing. Previous studies have measured the incidence of MRSA in different parts of Australia in varying ways. This work is the first attempt to marry the disparate data on community-onset MRSA into one dataset and to estimate the cost of community-onset MRSA infections in Australia using economic simulations. Models were developed to describe the incidence, treatments and consequences of infections.
Title: A brief introduction of Rcpp
Abstract: Rcpp permits easy access to native R objects at the C++ level. I will share my experience with Rcpp.
We look forward to seeing you all there!
