Re: non-ongoing opportunities available for graduates, post-graduates or professional statisticians/methodologists in Methodology Division, Australian Bureau of Statistics
Methodology Division is currently seeking to fill a number of vacancies on a non-ongoing basis, for an initial period of up to six months. As a valued member of the Methodology Advisory Committee, I would be very grateful if you could please share information about this opportunity with any students or contacts, who you believe may be interested in the roles.
We are seeking motivated people with skills in fields such as statistics, mathematics, modelling and analysis, survey questionnaire design, sampling and estimation, statistical disclosure control, or time series analysis. The roles are best suited to people who would work well in a team environment, have strong problem-solving skills, and are able to work flexibly to agreed priorities and deadlines. Tertiary qualifications in fields such as statistics, mathematics, econometrics, economics, social analysis (such as psychology) or related disciplines would be highly desirable and qualifications at honours level or above would be a further advantage.
The positions are available now and range from APS level 4 to APS level 6 nationally across our offices in Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobart, Melbourne, Geelong and Perth. Applications are invited through submission of a resume and brief description of education, previous work experience and skills to the non-ongoing (temporary) employment register, selecting ‘analytics’ as the preferred job family/function. Applicants are encouraged to apply before 31 July, but applications to the register which are received after this date may also be considered.
Any questions about the roles can be directed to Susan Shaw at Susan.Shaw@abs.gov.au or phone 02 6252 6949
Thank you in advance for your kind assistance in sharing information about this opportunity.
