When: Thursday 31st March 2016, 13:00-14:00.
Included in meeting: Continuation of Weird R Tips
Obviously not everyone uses R, but most of us do. For those who use R, think of one (weird) thing that you have found helpful which you would like to share with the group. This should be just a brief (2-3 minute) talk, preferably with a visual aid, explaining what the tip is and why it is helpful. By weird, we mean not mainstream, for example, obscure community- or self-made packages or functions, hacks, dirty workarounds, alternative methods, etc. Anything you have found on Stack Overflow is probably a good candidate! (Thus you may wish to use the Stack Overflow webpage as your visual aid rather than create slides) For those who don’t use R, perhaps you can think of a more general tip you would like to share with the group? If you are really stuck for ideas, a) see me J, and b) don’t let this preclude you from attending this meeting.
For those who wish to create slides as their visual aid, rather than waste 10 minutes having everyone copy their slides to the COW in Y801, can you please ensure they are on the COW prior to the meeting, or email them to Leah before 12:00pm on Thursday? If you wish to use a webpage for reference, make sure you can access this page quickly (e.g. have the URL handy).
Looking forward to hearing about your weird R tip! (There may even be a prize for the best tip!)
