–Ben will be giving a live demo of R mode and LaTeX mode in GNU Emacs to get our discussions on editors/IDEs started.
–Nick will be giving us an intro to S3 methods in R
-We will also have two visitors (Josh, and Ed) from the Institute for Social Sciences Research at UQ who are keen to talk about research methods and potential collaboration. Their centre produces very good research on longitudinal survey data, and some of their research includes predicting trajectories and finding clusters of trajectories.
-If anyone else has anything they’d like to add to the meeting please let us know. Come along with any ideas for what you would like to see in future meetings.
