Kerrie Mengersen honoured by Modelling and Simulation Society

Kerrie Mengersen has just been awarded a Biennial Medal by the Modelling and Simulation Society of Australia and New Zealand (MSSANZ).

As part of the award, the QUT Professor of Statistics was also named a Fellow of the Society. She was presented the award at the 21st Annual International Congress on Modelling and Simulation (MODSIM2015). Kerrie was also a plenary speaker at the conference, which took place on the Gold Coast.

“This conference and MSSANZ is really supportive of young researchers,” said Kerrie, “and does a really good job of promoting an interdisplinary environment.”

Kerrie also said the society is one that ACEMS can naturally interact with because its work is closely aligned with what ACEMS is doing.
