Obtaining an Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID)

If you’d like an ORCID ID you can get one for free from here:  http://orcid.org/

ORCID provides a persistent digital identifier that distinguishes you from every other researcher and, through integration in key research workflows such as manuscript and grant submission, supports automated linkages between you and your professional activities ensuring that your work is recognised.

ORCID is a non-profit organisation supported by a global community of organisational members, including research organisations, publishers, funders, professional associations, and other stakeholders in the research ecosystem.

ORCID ID’s are a particularly good idea if you have a common name like mine,  Ben
